So Monday night and Tuesday night seemed like they would never end, with little James endlessly waking himself up and crying. I think between those two nights I got about 7 hours of sleep. We are adjusting to me getting home at midnight from work too, so as soon as I get to sleep, he wakes up.
But last night, our boy slept through the night.
He slept from 10pm to 5am, and then till 9:40am. I felt like a new woman with that much sleep!!!
He always seems to know when I really need him to sleep, so I can sleep.
Tomorrow we are starting rice cereal in the hopes that it keeps him fuller longer. We'll see how that goes...
That's all for now!
Spencer and I were married August 12th 2006 at the Washington DC temple. We welcomed baby James in March of 2008 and baby Madelynn in April 2011. I became sick with unknown disease process in January of 2012 and began diagnostics immediately. We moved our life and family down from the DC area to Willliamsburg, to be closer to family. Spencer and my parents made it possible to do the move in such a short amount of time. We have lived here for one year already!.

Updates
Oh my goodness, it has been two weeks since I have updated our blog - I can't believe how fast time has gone!!!
James and I got back from California on Sunday the 20th. We had such an amazing time! It was wonderful to see my sister Sara and her family in the bay area, as well as the wonderful Boulter's in Camarillo. We were very lucky on our direct flight back. Jetblue had a totally booked flight. I was lucky enough to be able to upgrade to a window seat closer to the front of the plane, and then my luck held when THE SEAT NEXT TO ME was empty :) :) James had a seat to cuddle up in his blankets on the way home - definitely saved mommy's back from having to hold him for 5 hours. I had a guardian angel watching out for me on all three of our flights while we were traveling and it was easy all around (except for the diaper explosion on the way out to CA - but at least now I feel I have truly entered mommyhood.)
Let me just say that I missed Spencer so much!! Oh my goodness. It was so much fun being out in CA, but I wish we could have done it together. Bless his heart, he used up all his vacation time taking care of me when the baby was born, so he really wasn't able to have a vacation this year.
James and I took a day or two to recup from out adventures - we were so so tired. That week entailed grocery shopping, two trips to the pool (James totally hearts the pool), back to work and THEN a trip to PA.
My Dad's mom was recently diagnosed with uterine cancer, and had a hysterectomy and now is undergoing chemo treatments. We decided that we needed to see her as soon as possible, especially so she could meet James. She is doing well so far, very positive outlook and she was very happy to see us, along with my parents and my brother. It was really good to see her. We had a good time up there seeing many family members and eating the wonders of Lancaster County food. mmmm.....
We came back this past Sunday, and spent the rest of the day relaxing. Spencer took Monday (yesterday) off so he could relax and we could do something together. All three of us went to the pool and took turns with James in the water, while the other enjoyed the hot tub :). Then we saw the movie "The Dark Knight" - probably the most well done movie I have ever seen, but so totally terrifying and dark, that I have no desire to see it again. We then came home and relaxed - I even snuck in a 2 hour nap with James which was awesome. William came over and Spencer made his famous tri tip which ROCKED - honestly he is the best grill man EVER.
The rest of the week holds lots of work as I have picked up two extra shifts, so I am working today, wednesday, thursday, saturday and sunday. Thankfully, I will be off Sundays as of the 10th of August which will be nice, since it is the one day a week where Spencer and I are both home.
I guess thats all for now - I know I am missing something, so if I remember I'll make sure to add it! I promise to have pictures up soon - I know its been awhile and some people are going through "James withdraw!" (Lissy!!)
Love to everyone :)

New Pants
My sister is one of the most creative person I know. And she can totally whip up something adorable and creative quick. Tonight she made James a new pair of jammie pants - SO adorable. And he looks so comfy in them!!
He's a vision in color block green :) Very very cute. Thank you Sara!!!
Trip to San Francisco :)
Today we toured San Francisco! It was my first time there!!! We had a blast - we went to fisherman's wharf, the aquarium by the bay, gharadelli square, and an awesome place to eat. Sara introduced me to a wonderful San Francisco treat of garlic fries! Now when I say garlic, I mean GARLIC - lots of chunks of raw garlic, all over french fries - and it ROCKED my taste buds :)mmmm :)
We had an awesome time at the aquarium - it was the first time I can remember where I have been to one. I even got to pet a stingray and a tiger shark! The stingray was so soft - I couldn't believe it! It was like velvet! It was fun watching my niece, Sophie and my nephew, Simon react to the fish - Simon was fascinated with the sharks and Sophie loved the divers!
Fisherman's wharf even had a hard rock cafe/ store there. I have never been to one, and I went into the store determined to buy a teeshirt that said Hard Rock Cafe...I found one I liked, but I could not reason my way into buying a $28 teeshirt. That's right folks. A $28 teeshirt...No thanks...
Up at Ghiradelli square, I bought Spencer some milk chocolate, and also some fabulous semi sweet morsels for his chocolate chip cookies :) Mmmmmmmm.........
I was a bit facinated with the landscape - namely the hills. Honestly, who would need to go to the gym after going up and down those hills all day?? The trollies and cable cars were fun to watch too!
It was a FABULOUS trip. The weather was PERFECT. A little cool and overcast at the start - but it warmed up and became sunny, but still with a nice breeze off the bay :) Perfect, perfect, perfect!!! I loved being there with my sister and her kids and enjoying everything!!
I have to give props to little James. He stayed in that stroller for 4 hours and not a peep except the one time he was hungry. He sat in it and smiled the entire time. Quite a change from what he is usually like in a stroller - I was so proud of him.
More blogs to follow as the adventure continues!!! Tomorrow...the beach!!

Happy fourth!!!
Today, Spencer and I spent a leisurely morning at home, and then went to a BBQ with friends at a beautiful park on the potomac river. We couldn't have had a better weather day - it was 80 degrees and overcast with a nice breeze coming off the river. We were invited to the BBQ by one of Spencer's former co-workers. There was about 16 of us in all, 2 little babies and a few other younger kids :) It was so nice!! And of course we had SO much food. Oh my goodness. Every kind of hot dog you could eat, and every kind of dessert you could ever want!!
Spencer was definitely in his element with 3 Smokey Joe grills and all the BBQ tools (toys) that a guy could want. I do have to say this was a first for Spencer. I don't think he has ever BBQ'd with 3 true New Yorkers, but I think he won them over with his 1500 degree creme brulee torch. That thing attracts men like a moth to light. The boys lit everything they could with that torch.
James, of course had a complete meltdown 15 minutes into the get together. We had to go sit in the car swaddled with a pacifier for 20 minutes to calm down. Then he passed out in his carseat in the picnic area. Our friends Rob and T
We spent about4 hours with our friends and then decided to head on home where we all got cleaned up and relaxed for a few hours - little James was SO tired.
Around 8pm, William came over and the pyro fest began. They had fun setting off fireworks :) James watched intently as the colors from the firworks exploded in the sky, and the loud noises didn't even phase him! Our neighbors were lighting off fireworks of their own, which were imported from the great state of Tennessee. They lit a 10 shot morter box that could almost have been used as a professional finale. Spencer and William say that we are definitely living in the wrong state when it comes to fireworks.
Overall I think it is safe to say that we all had one fabulous 4th of July.

Beautiful weather and sleepy baby boy
The past couple days we have been blessed with GOOD weather for once. Nice breezes, warm sun, cool air - PERFECT for taking walks. A year ago I would have said it would be perfect weather for runs, but my knees just aren't as forgiving as they used to be.
Anyways - Allie, James and I went for a 2 mile walk this morning - we lathered up with sunscreen and water and hats and out we went - I had to take a picture of my little boy when we came back in - he was totally out cold.
Later today, we are all meeting my best friend Robin at a lake so our two dogs can go swimming - I just love nice weather days!!!!
